The City of Lisbon, Empresa Municipal de Mobilidade e Estacionamento de Lisboa (EMEL) and the European Cyclists’ Federation, organisers of this year’s edition of the world’s largest cycling conference are committed to hold a safe in-person event and are working closely with the Portuguese health officials to ensure all necessary measures are implemented. The venue for Velo-city 2021 Lisboa will be FIL in the Parque das Nações quarter in Lisbon. FIL has been certified as “clean&safe” and in compliance with all the safety and hygiene norms.
Why you should join us in Lisbon

The annual Velo-city conference serves as a global knowledge exchange and policy transfer platform for cycling and sustainable urban planning. After a one-year break, the organisers are eager to gather the global cycling community again in Lisbon. Velo-city has gained in importance since the outbreak of the pandemic and will play a crucial role in guaranteeing that the current cycling surge survives the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cycling boom represents a unique opportunity for cycling advocates, public authorities, researchers, decision-makers, industry leaders and organisations to push for long-lasting urban change in favour of cycling. The conference will equip attendees with know-how on promoting more cycling in their home countries and cities. Global collaboration is key to amplifying the voices of cyclists in all corners of the world and ensuring that the bike boom is here to stay.
